Privacy Policy

The short version
SmarterDiff is designed to be private by default. The files and text you compare using our tools are processed entirely in your browser. They are never uploaded to our servers, and we have no server-side endpoint that could accept them. We also use Google Analytics and Google AdSense, both of which set cookies — see below for details.
What we do not collect
- The text you paste into the Text Diff tool.
- The contents of any .docx, .pdf, .xlsx, .xls, or .csv file you compare.
- The contents or names of any folder you compare.
- Any image you drop into the Image Diff or AI vs Real tool.
- The output of any comparison.
You can verify this in any browser's developer tools (DevTools → Network).
What we do collect
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymization enabled. GA collects standard page-view information (URL, referrer, anonymized IP, approximate location, browser user agent, screen size). This lets us understand which pages are popular. GA does not see the files or text you compare.
Advertising
We display advertisements served by Google AdSense. AdSense and its partners may set cookies and use device identifiers to show personalized ads. You can opt out of personalized ads at google.com/settings/ads and learn more about how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Cookies
We set first-party cookies for Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*)
and third-party cookies for AdSense. We do not set any cookies of our own that
identify you across sessions.
Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
If you are in the EEA, UK, or California, you have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Because we do not have a user-account system and the only personal data we hold is analytics, the easiest way to exercise these rights is to use your browser's "clear site data" function and disable cookies for our domain.
